kfields is an attempt to incorporate concepts from generative modeling and physics simulation into “everyday” 3D modeling. It offers an interface alternative to control points by using objects in modeling space to modify the curves. It builds on the 3D modelers existing skills in working with the objects in 3D space and requires no programming on user’s side.
The project has been developed as a part of my master thesis at the department of interaction design, Malmö University. Design process involved workshops, experience prototyping sessions and user self-documentation for improving the concept.
